chasing rainbows

Did you know that it is impossible to chase a rainbow? I don’t know the science included in that statement but I can believe it as fact.

Rainbows stand for promises to me. A promise that the future will be brighter, that the storm is over. Of course I know many people have different promises and for good reason; we are all unique. But even the most faithful can loose a little bit of hope. Maybe your promise is years old. Maybe it’s been centuries since you’ve had hope that it will actually come to pass and you will see a pot of gold. But take heart, He fulfills His promises.

We need only hold on and wait.

Tears are nature’s way of healing big emotions- Aha Parenting

“This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the community, and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. Life is no ‘brief candle’ to me. It ia a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for a moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to the future generations.” ~ George Bernard Shaw

Elizabeth Gilbert said:

“[pain] is one of the most powerful energy forces in the universe—but only if you use it as an instrument of change. People must be willing to journey all the way to the bottom of their pain and experience full catharsis—to completely break apart so they can then rebuild themselves anew. As Jim said, “Suffering without catharsis is nothing but wasted pain.”

The Psalmist said:

“Is there any place I can go to avoid your Spirit?
to be out of your sight?
If I climb to the sky, you’re there!
If I go underground, you’re there!
If I flew on morning’s wings
to the far western horizon,
You’d find me in a minute—
you’re already there waiting!
Then I said to myself, “Oh, he even sees me in the dark!
At night I’m immersed in the light!”
It’s a fact: darkness isn’t dark to you;
night and day, darkness and light,
they’re all the same to you.” (Ps 139:7-12 MSG.)
